Amritamati
I came cross the Dharma when I was 16, and after a number of starts and stops eventually learnt to meditate in Thailand in 1991 and came across the FWBO in Nepal a few months later. I returned to the UK the following year after spending some time on various retreats in India and moved to live near the London Buddhist Centre where I stayed for 16 years, working mainly as a mental health nurse for older adults in the NHS, but with a 3 year stint in the Wild Cherry cafe too. I lived in three communities and also alone for a few years, then moved here in June 2008. I was ordained in Tuscany in 2003. I love living in the countryside. I am really enjoying growing vegetables, driving again (after an 18 year gap!), and having so much time to study, meditate and reflect on the Dharma. I love listening to music (most kinds), reading (most things) and watching films (prefer a happy ending nowadays!). |
